The server verifies the checking process by looking for .htaccess in the root of the current web directory, and on down the directory tree until it reaches the directory where the requested file resides. Since the placement of the .htaccess file determines when it's been executed, this fact can be used to restrict access only in certain subdirectories. The .htaccess file can be used to restrict access to other files and web pages. The .htaccess file can be placed in one or more of your /www/YourDomainName-www subdirectories. If I'm trying to use .htaccess protection, and I'm having a problem using it with your system, what to do?

If your hosting plan does not include the SSH, you will have to make a one time fee-payment. To learn more about protecting your website, contact us at Support@Swiftlane.com. If you are authorized to activate your SSH, you will receive an e-mail with details for using SSH.
